Overview
Ultralisks are enormous armored Zerg assault organisms, recognizable by curved cutting blades beside the head. Their mass and protective carapace make them a biological counterpart to heavy war machinery, advancing into positions where smaller creatures can be destroyed quickly. They attack on the ground at close range; their imposing appearance does not grant an ordinary Ultralisk an answer to every aerial threat.
The creature appears in the original StarCraft and remains a prominent heavy unit in StarCraft II. Later models elaborate its blade arrangement and animations, while campaigns and multiplayer attach different upgrades and special interactions to its bulk. This profile follows the recurring armored assault form rather than merging every mutation into one universal specimen. Blizzard's classic guide supplies the original role, and the sequel provides a second primary depiction with revised battlefield behavior.
