Overview

Desire demons work through the wishes of mortal people, using temptation, illusion and bargains rather than relying only on physical force. Origins's codex explicitly broadens desire beyond sexual attraction to include wealth, beauty and power. A familiar female-looking form is therefore a particular presentation, not evidence that every desire demon has one biological sex or one kind of target.

The Redcliffe and Circle stories show how personal hopes can become a route into possession or deception. Dragon Age II retains the category with its own encounters and mechanics, while later named individuals can choose very different appearances. The codex itself includes a compromised observer's enthusiastic account, illustrating why narrator reliability matters. This profile treats the creatures as intelligent supernatural antagonists and identifies the limits of those in-world accounts rather than reducing them to a generic succubus or claiming every bargain follows one rule.
