Overview
The Capra Demon pairs a horned, goat-like head and humanoid body with two enormous blades. Its Lower Undead Burg encounter is shaped by the confined courtyard and two attack dogs, which can interrupt movement before the player has room to respond to the demon. Horizontal combinations, an overhead blow and a jumping attack create different threats rather than one uninterrupted swing. Stairs provide height and an opening for a downward attack, but do not remove the danger from crowding or the demon's reach.
The Demon Great Machete description identifies hooked cast-iron blades wielded in pairs by lesser Capra demons. It explicitly assigns them no particular magic, making strength and mass more relevant than an invented enchantment. Their use by both the boss and lesser demons in the Demon Ruins supports a reusable creature type rather than one unique humanoid villain. Defeating the courtyard boss provides the Key to the Depths, linking its story role to access beneath the Burg. The independent walkthrough's evaluation of difficulty is a player's tactical judgment, not an objective biological ranking of Capra against every other demon.
First appearances & development
The selected monster belongs to Dark Souls in 2011. Boss and Demon Ruins examples share a named lesser-demon type. The goat-like appearance is described without equating it to a mythological satyr or assigning an unverified folklore inspiration to FromSoftware's designers.
Canon & continuity
The actual specialist boss passage and paired-blade item description were read separately. The indexed GameSpot walkthrough supplies the stairs and Key to the Depths outcome; a direct local fetch was blocked and is not represented as a successful cache. Neither source resolves a biological origin or named lineage.
