Overview

Astel combines translucent wings, a segmented body of coloured star-like orbs, human-like hands and a skull whose crack exposes a blue eye. Large mandibles frame that face, and the long body ends in a scorpion-like outline. Its remembrance identifies a malformed star from a distant, lightless void that destroyed an Eternal City and took its sky. The text establishes that deed without naming which city in the inspected passage or supplying a creator's real-animal design account.

The Naturalborn of the Void encounter lies beyond the Lake of Rot and Grand Cloister, reached through a coffin. Defeating it enables access toward Moonlight Altar when the Dark Moon Ring condition is met. Gravity attacks and warping across the arena make it more than a stationary apparition. Stars of Darkness in Yelough Anix Tunnel supplies another named Astel encounter, including a later multi-copy grasp, and remains grouped here without asserting that both encounters are the same surviving individual. Apparent parallels with Fallingstar Beasts are a useful comparison of cosmic imagery, but no inspected primary text establishes an egg-to-Astel life cycle or a documented parent-child line.

First appearances & development

The selected Astel encounters appear in Elden Ring in 2022. Their shared title and related appearance are covered together, with named encounter differences retained. Unused animation and version-1.00 development markers are not adopted as released creature biography or proof of an ordinary evolutionary sequence.

Canon & continuity

The specialist Astel body and actual Remembrance of the Naturalborn description were inspected. They supply the distant origin, city destruction and selected encounter routes. The remembrance does not resolve every Eternal City identification, and the source's unused-content discussion is explicitly kept outside this released-canon treatment.
