Ancestor spirit (Elden Ring)

Overview

Ancestor spirits resemble deer with exposed ribs, worn fur and large luminous antlers. The Regal Ancestor's remembrance places the phenomenon outside the Erdtree's purview and describes life arising through both birth and death. The horn talisman makes that principle tangible: fresh, glowing buds grow from the fallen spirit's antlers, and its power restores focus as enemies die. Ancestral Followers' budded horn headdresses mirror the spirits, but ritual resemblance is not enough to turn those worshippers into biological offspring.

The lower Siofra encounter opens after eight flames are lit and the horned remains are touched. The regal encounter uses six surrounding flames and a different Hallowhorn Grounds location. Both spirits move through the air and release blue energy; the regal form also drains life from creatures in its arena, disappears and re-emerges through another animal, and adopts different animal-like motions. These distinct encounters are grouped without inventing an ordinary deer life cycle or claiming that a defeated body automatically becomes another named creature. Torrent's similar horns alone do not establish that he is a juvenile ancestor spirit.

First appearances & development

The selected manifestations belong to Elden Ring in 2022. Standard and regal encounters are grouped within one phenomenon, with different ritual conditions retained. This is an animal-shaped spirit profile rather than a record of a real deer species or a complete chronology of the Ancestral Followers.

Canon & continuity

The actual creature passage, Regal Ancestor remembrance and horn talisman transcription were inspected independently. They support growth after death and the encounter distinction. The source's speculative Torrent identification is not promoted to canon. Future Press confirms a bestiary's scope, but its individual chapter was not read.
