Overview

The official mythology portrays tall beings arriving through the Crystal's power from another world. They bring knowledge and technology that helps reshape Thra, including the castle surrounding the Crystal and an observatory for Aughra. Their influence is therefore not limited to the final revelation of the original film: companion lore places them within the world's architecture and astronomical history.

The attempt to purge conflicting qualities at a Great Conjunction instead separates each being into two living counterparts. Their divided forms retain a connection, and the restoration of the Crystal permits a reunion that changes the meaning of the apparent conflict between rulers and Mystics. This profile distinguishes the original whole from its two transformed halves because the body, historical role and story function differ. It does not multiply the named pairs into separate species or describe the urSkeks as perfectly incapable of destructive impulses before their division.

First appearances & development

The film and its 1982 illustrated companion are the defining early public treatments. Later stories and the official encyclopedia expand the arrival, work and division of the visitors. In-world millennia are not publication dates, and a precise exhaustive chronology of every companion detail has not been established here.

Canon & continuity

The inspected official urSkek page explicitly describes arrival, knowledge, the castle, observatory, purification attempt and division. The film's restoration provides the narrative endpoint. The account is limited to those witnessed features and does not infer the biology, government or complete social history of the distant homeworld from the small exiled group.
