Overview
The Tatzelwurm’s main advantage is the ground beneath a fight. It tunnels toward a target or disappears to escape incoming blows, repeatedly changing where the next attack will originate. The licensed 2018 guide describes a mixture of reptilian and feline features and emphasizes preventing the creature from reaching that underground refuge. Ground impacts can expose a nearby burrower, while launching it interrupts another escape. Although resistant to arrow damage, it is readily affected by electricity; that distinction matters because an arrow can help control its movement without being the most effective source of direct damage.
The Cursed form produces poison from a throat sac. Avoiding the initial projectile is insufficient if a fighter subsequently walks into the contaminated ground. It remains a burrowing Tatzelwurm, not a separate species created here to multiply entries. The Ragnarök codex adds a venomous barbed tail and portrays tunnelling as a predatory ambush technique. Its hostile assessment of the creature’s apparent pleasure in tormenting victims remains the narrator’s interpretation. These accounts support an elusive, poisonous monster while leaving its reproduction, lifespan and wider population ecology unresolved.
First appearances & development
The selected witnesses are the 2018 game’s licensed enemy guide and a returned passage from the Ragnarök codex. The name also belongs to older folklore, but this entry covers the franchise implementation; it does not import every reported traditional characteristic or establish a direct design influence.
Canon & continuity
Prima supplies burrowing, movement interruption, electricity susceptibility and the cursed throat-sac attack. The indexed sequel codex passage supplies the tail and ambush description. These are different game witnesses, with the later narrator’s judgments distinguished from directly described attacks.
