Comparison · motif comparison

Futakuchi-onna

Mawile’s official description contrasts its harmless-looking face with a much larger biting apparatus. Fukusaki’s account of Futakuchi-onna describes a second mouth concealed behind a woman’s head. This comparison concerns a deceptive appearance and rear-mouth motif; without creator testimony, it does not establish the yōkai as Mawile’s directly documented inspiration.
