Overview

A USC archive informant recalls his mother pointing out Suchitoto's Iglesia Santa Lucía during family visits. Her story describes a priest punished for an old sin, wandering headless at night in search of peace. Bells reportedly sound when nobody rings them. The account influenced the family's behaviour: the speaker and his cousins avoided the church and night streets, even though the recollection includes no direct sighting. He understood the story through his family's concern about broken promises and moral failure.

CONAMYPE's exhibition gives a separate design: a tall, rosary-bearing figure in a dark cassock emerges from churches on moonless Fridays, passes through closed doors and vanishes into bell towers. This portrayal complements the named family memory without proving that its calendar or powers belonged to that particular Suchitoto telling. Different Central American and Philippine headless-priest stories need their own attributed witnesses.

Origins & earliest records

Collector Hector Hernandez posted the inspected family account on 7 May 2025. The informant identifies maternal transmission during visits to relatives in Suchitoto but gives no date for the supposed priest's life or punishment. CONAMYPE's public exhibition page has no established publication date. Neither witness supplies a first historical apparition or a verified murdered cleric.

Records & interpretation

The USC text and date were inspected by native retrieval. It records a remembered story and its effect on the family's choices, explicitly without an encounter. CONAMYPE independently supports the exhibition's clothing, rosary and movements. The alleged sin is unspecified; a detailed execution history or identification with another country's priest would exceed these sources.
