Overview
Capcom explains an Ooze’s pale, melted appearance through a fictional infection process: T-Abyss acts on cell membranes, excess water accumulates and swollen cells rupture. Repetition across the body leaves flesh partially liquefied and bloated. The multiplying virus drives a need for nutrition and hydration, producing a monster that extracts fluids from prey. Although the body resembles a drowned corpse, the dossier gives infection as its cause rather than supernatural resurrection or an ordinary drowning. The distorted shape is therefore part of the weaponized-virus account.
The Revelations guide describes bodies changing structure to pass through vents and floor grates, turning apparently empty ship corridors into possible ambush positions. The kitchen creature emerges when a grate is examined; other recorded enemies appear in showers and ventilation shafts. A head weak point provides a tactical detail distinct from the general origin explanation. Capcom groups several forms under Ooze: a regular body, a bone-firing mutation, a scythe-armed attacker and a headless, armless explosive form. Those manifestations remain together here, rather than being presented as four unrelated natural species. The named infected Rachael is an individual case, not another species solely because her appearance differs.
First appearances & development
Resident Evil Revelations (2012) makes Oozes recurring infected enemies aboard the Queen Zenobia. The dossier’s four general body configurations are grouped as variants. This profile concerns that game’s T-Abyss infection; it does not transfer the name to every fictional slime or presume the same mechanism as a T-Virus zombie.
Canon & continuity
The inspected Capcom dossier establishes cellular swelling, fluid-feeding motivation and four general forms. The individual game guide supplies dynamic body structure, head vulnerability and concrete ship ambushes. These independently supported descriptions are distinguished from an exhaustive medical account: the infection is fictional and no complete natural-history taxonomy is supplied.
