AI concept of Nambya language advocacy and collaborative learning resources.
Setting, tools and layout imagined; not ethnographic evidence.
Overview
The Nambya Cultural Association and its Development Organisation Trust describe themselves as organisations promoting Nambya culture and language from Hwange, Zimbabwe. The association dates its beginnings to the early 1960s; the trust mobilises resources for its work. Their account also recalls colonial displacement associated with the national park and railway.
The association calls the language chiNambya and locates speakers in northwestern Zimbabwe, parts of Botswana and diaspora communities. Its language page describes connections with Kalanga and Shona, and a grammar and dictionary compiled by Augustine Moreno with the association. These resources link cultural advocacy to language learning across borders.
