Overview

Lunastra is a blue Elder Dragon with a lionlike face, a broad mane and wings, identified as the female counterpart to Teostra. Her fire and powder attacks resemble that shared design family but create a distinct encounter. Monster Hunter: World's official introduction emphasizes her aggressive behavior and persistent blue fire, which can turn the surrounding ground into a dangerous area.

The World appearance arrived through a post-launch update in May 2018, so she should not be listed among that game's original launch encounters. World also allows cooperation with Teostra, including a combined attack when the pair are together. These environmental and cooperative mechanics do not automatically describe her earlier Monster Hunter 2 encounter. This entry therefore treats Lunastra as her own named creature and separates the recurring blue dragon identity from the particular features of the New World version.
