Overview
The v3.5 SRD depicts locathah as recognizably fishlike despite their humanoid outline. Their communities include civilian members alongside patrol officers and other leaders, and their language is Aquan. This older account distinguishes females by markings on their egg sacs, while otherwise describing little visible difference between sexes. Locathah can swim far more quickly than they walk. Their longspears also serve as fishing equipment; crossbows support an ambush or an opening volley before close combat. The text specifically denies them teeth, claws and other natural weapons, making an unarmed locathah much less dangerous in that encounter model.
Locathah Rising changes the perspective from meeting an aquatic patrol to playing members of the threatened community. Its publisher describes a normally peaceful people driven into open conflict as elemental forces endanger their homes and families. Heroes emerge from those communities to resist the threat, and the adventure includes a playable Fishfolk Locathah option. The official catalogue characterizes them as proud survivors of war, enslavement and other mistreatment. Those narrative roles allow an individual to be a defender and protagonist, rather than reducing a society to the equipment listed in an older monster block.
First appearances & development
This account begins with the inspected v3.5 SRD portrayal and follows the fish-folk into Locathah Rising’s playable adventure. The bibliography identifies the 2019 adventure, but only its public publisher description and catalogue entry were newly read; its complete scenario and character appendix remain outside this comparison.
Canon & continuity
The older licensed SRD reproduction supplies appearance, language, organization and fishing weapons. The official adventure listing establishes the threatened communities, elemental danger and playable option. The public species catalogue adds the history of mistreatment; it does not expose the complete character rules.
