Overview
The reference preserves an in-game account connecting Lephantis to the Old War. Three heads emerge from one body: Corpus-like material that launches poisonous projectiles, a Grineer face with an organic scythe, and an Ancient-like form that fires explosive spores. Their separate attack identities do not make them independent organisms. Openings revealed during attacks allow damage to the otherwise armored monster.
The encounter first conceals the shared body below the floor. After the exposed heads are defeated, the floor breaks and the player descends to confront the joined organism. Digital Extremes’ original Shadows of the Dead announcement introduced an Infested Golem in the Orokin derelicts and tied its defeat to Nekros acquisition; the reference identifies that boss as Lephantis. Its later mission location belongs to the continuing game, while the contemporary announcement preserves the historical introduction.
First appearances & development
Lephantis was introduced in Warframe: Shadows of the Dead on September 13, 2013. The contemporary announcement calls the boss the Infested Golem; the inspected reference identifies the Lephantis name and encounter. This bibliography contains one game update and its developer announcement, not an invented separate sequel or novel.
Canon & continuity
Digital Extremes’ original release announcement directly supports the new derelict boss and Nekros connection. Warframe Wiki supplies the named identity, reproduced Lotus/Fragment context and multi-headed encounter. This is a reference-mediated reading of those in-game texts rather than a claim to have inspected the entire original script. Exact current damage attenuation is outside scope.
