Overview

The 2024 playtest describes psychic communication and damaya, korasha or unbound development. This is a dated playtest witness.

Raia's 2017 history locates her family in Komena on Castrovel. Her diplomat parents help negotiate peace with neighboring formians, teaching her to study differences without denying another people's civilization. She chooses damaya development at puberty, then attends a Qabarat university to study technomancy and alien societies. Her knowledge-centered Yaraesa faith and relationship with a ryphorian student belong to her individual life.

Exploration becomes both research and livelihood: she exchanges scientific and magical expertise for travel. The biography gives an example of education and diplomatic aspiration after prolonged conflict, without requiring every lashunta to share her profession or convictions.

Alex White's 2025 story places Raia in a dangerous confrontation with enhanced mercenaries. Mental communication, interference with equipment and technological spellcasting help her defeat their advantages. The employer then disables its own operatives' implants before information can escape, and Raia fails to understand a dying man's attempted disclosure.

That episode shows capabilities and fallibility within authored fiction. Her digital movement and equipment attacks are this technomancer's actions; they are not innate abilities assigned to all lashuntas. The later story is explicitly published alongside second-edition material, while the earlier biography remains a first-edition introduction.

First appearances & development

This account uses the 2017 Raia introduction and White's 2025 encounter, with a short comparison to the 2024 playtest. Earlier Pathfinder appearances are not newly investigated, so 2017 is not asserted as the people's invention date.

02

Canon & continuity

Both complete publisher narratives were read; selected printed pages 24–25 of the playtest supply only the bounded developmental comparison. The fiction demonstrates individual behavior, while playtest terminology is dated. No new gameplay, linked artwork inspection or complete released-rulebook comparison is claimed.
