Overview
Koroks are small forest-associated beings with wooden bodies and leaflike masks. The Wind Waker places them around the Deku Tree and links their activity to the islands' future growth. Their distinctive faces and concealed presence offer a quieter form of wonder than combat monsters, presenting the landscape as inhabited even where human settlements are absent.
Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom turn encounters with Koroks into widespread exploration puzzles, but collecting systems are game mechanics rather than a complete culture. Their relationship to Kokiri belongs to particular story material and should be sourced before being generalized. This entry follows named Zelda versions rather than equating them with every folkloric tree spirit.
