Overview
Klixen are armoured, insectlike creatures that threaten Shepard's group on worlds including Tuchanka and Tarith. They attack with an incendiary discharge and can become dangerous again when their bodies explode after being killed. Their relatively close-range attacks make the space immediately around them hazardous, particularly when several converge at once. Their outline and movement can recall other arthropodlike enemies in the setting, but resemblance does not establish a shared lineage with rachni.
Harvesters visibly drop klixen during relevant encounters, including the challenges surrounding Grunt's rite of passage. The precise biological basis of that transport is not explained by the inspected material, so this profile does not assign a mother-young relationship or an invented parasitic life cycle. The creature's role is primarily environmental and tactical: it turns hostile local wildlife into part of a character's social trial and planetary exploration. The identified narrative appearance is Mass Effect 2; the second bibliographic item is its creature documentation, not a claim of a separately verified sequel appearance.
First appearances & development
The checked narrative basis is Mass Effect 2, released in 2010. Its Tuchanka and Tarith encounters support the creature's visible behaviour and its association with harvesters. A separately identified sequel appearance is not supplied. The second bibliographic item is the contemporary creature reference page, openly distinguished from a second primary story or game.
Canon & continuity
The inspected creature reference identifies Mass Effect 2 encounters and attack behaviour. The game itself is the primary work; the second reference item does not pretend to be a separately verified codex entry. Association with harvesters is limited to their observed carriage, and arthropod resemblance alone is not used to assign a rachni relationship.
