Overview

The 2024 playtest identifies four-armed migrants from Kasath aboard Idari. Ship residence and settlement elsewhere coexist.

Stephens's 2017 biography places Altronus within House Holdare. The family produces scholar-priests who preserve deceased kasathas' brain material in technomagical archives. Its expectations shape his intended career, while his broad curiosity makes conventional training difficult.

Training in the Cycle redirects that curiosity toward cosmic creation and destruction. A confrontation with an archive intruder leads him onto the solarian path. With family approval, he abandons his expected profession and extends his coming-of-age journey to investigate suspected conspiracies.

His unsettled career illustrates negotiation with tradition rather than its total absence. The biography's investigative suspicions do not establish that every unusual event is caused by the same hidden enemy.

Keeley's 2019 Barsala biography supplies a contrasting civilian example. She grows up on Bretheda in a household combining biotechnology and Talavet worship. Neighbors help her adapt to a prosthetic hand after an injury. Corporate research later supports a public science program, making community education another route to influence beyond Altronus's warrior and archive traditions.

First appearances & development

The Altronus introduction (2017) and Barsala biography (2019) are selected first-edition witnesses, not a claim of first publication anywhere. The 2024 playtest is a later comparison. Its four-arm action rules are not presented as permanent current mechanics.
