Overview

Hiyoribō appears among steep rounded mountains, with a human-like face emerging within a rock-lined recess. Only a small portion of the figure is exposed against the surrounding cliffs. Clouds curl between the slopes, and several pine trees spread their branches across the foreground. The body’s pale interior is framed by the dark outline of the rock, making the facial expression stand out from the broader landscape.

The title 日和坊 identifies the weather-associated apparition. Sekien’s image emphasizes mountains and clouds rather than a confrontation with a person. The printed explanatory text occupies the upper right, balancing the steep landscape on the left. This page is direct evidence for a mountain portrayal of the named being. It does not depict a sequence of changing weather or prove that the creature physically produces the clouds.
