Overview

The Dragon Quest golem is a massive humanoid assembled from brick-like blocks, with small eyes visible in a dark facial opening. The original game's memorable example guards the approach to Cantlin and must be overcome before the hero enters. Its strength makes direct combat daunting, but the Faerie Flute provides a particular way to put that guardian to sleep.

Later games reuse the broad design as regular enemies, allies and related material monsters. The original flute puzzle should not become a claim that every golem can be defeated with any sleep spell: even that first encounter distinguishes the special item from ordinary magic. Likewise, a name shared with Jewish tradition does not make this game monster an account of that tradition. Construction, resistances and recruitment follow the selected game, with its bulky silhouette providing continuity.
