Overview
Uninvited initially presents attacks by an elusive monster as a problem of tracking an unknown off-world predator. Examination instead reveals a smaller wormlike organism associated with the body, and the investigation connects similar incidents on several worlds. The creature's significance lies in parasitism and mutation rather than in a single large external shape: the visible attacker is a transformed host, not necessarily the parasite's own natural body.
The investigation traces the danger to modifications made to Sodan cloaking equipment. The original system's radiation had an important repellent function, and removing that feature allows organisms from another phase or dimension to reach the wearer and surrounding environment. A technology that appears safer by one measure becomes hazardous by another. The episode does not establish a general bestiary of alternate dimensions, and its fictional mechanism should not be treated as evidence about actual radiation or biological mutation.
First appearances & development
Damian Kindler's Uninvited, broadcast during SG-1's tenth season in 2006, introduces the relevant parasite and altered-host incidents. The modified cloaking mechanism is central to its arrival. This entry covers the parasite system as one creature treatment rather than counting each affected animal as a newly discovered alien species.
Canon & continuity
The inspected episode summary follows the autopsy discovery and the investigation of altered cloaking devices. The Solutions creature index distinguishes the parasite from its vicious mutated hosts. Those witnesses support the story's causal chain, but do not provide a translated species name, original habitat survey or independent scientific explanation.
