Overview
Lords and Ladies sets a seductive appearance against kidnapping, cruelty and manipulation. The elves' realm touches the Disc at places where boundaries can become vulnerable, letting an encounter with a familiar fairy-tale image develop into a community threat. Glamour alters how people perceive the visitors and themselves, making beauty a means of control rather than a guarantee of virtue. Iron and the witches' practical understanding become important within this specific magical system.
The Wee Free Men returns to Fairyland through Tiffany's rescue journey, and The Shepherd's Crown develops another invasion amid changing powers. The later book includes an outcast elf whose learning challenges a blanket statement that the whole people can never change. The profile therefore records the predatory pattern without turning an earlier narrator's or character's judgment into a permanent biological law. These beings remain distinct from Tolkien's Elves and from any single traditional faerie category with a different relationship to morality and iron.
First appearances & development
Lords and Ladies in 1992 supplies the central early developed encounter. The Wee Free Men in 2003 and The Shepherd's Crown in 2015 revisit the people and their capacity for change. Passing earlier references are not exhaustively audited, and the final novel's development is retained instead of using only an early hostile stereotype.
Canon & continuity
The official Lords and Ladies page directly confirms the returning elves' threat; the final novel's official page confirms renewed invasion. The inspected independent guide describes the outcast's changed outlook even though its opening makes a contradictory blanket moral claim. This profile uses that later qualification and does not reproduce the contradiction as immutable species biology.
