Deimos Carnis

Overview

The Carnis brings threat from surfaces above the ground as well as from a direct approach. It fires homing purple orbs at range and switches to heavy claw swipes nearby. Wall and ceiling climbing make those positions part of its encounter behavior. The player cannot judge danger solely by the creatures standing in the immediate path.

The Carnis Rex adds coiling into a ball and rolling into enemies, an enlarged-form attack kept separate from the ordinary repertoire. An early presentation used the name Infested Ashen, while Otak calls a quest example Bitey Scratchikins. Those names identify development and character commentary, not additional species. The many-legged form combines access to overhead surfaces with weapons useful at different ranges, distinguishing it from the Drift’s larger ground-based combatants.

First appearances & development

Deimos Carnis were introduced with Warframe: Heart of Deimos in August 2020. The reference documents an earlier TennoCon presentation name and the later game encounter, which belong to development and release rather than different species. One primary game update is listed, with the detailed behavior accessed through a single inspected reference.

Canon & continuity

The Warframe Wiki article directly supplies its encounter account and patch-history introduction. The original developer update was separately inspected for this world’s introduction, but further lengthy derivation from that shared page is avoided. The page’s Scolopendra design assertion lacks inspected creator testimony here and is excluded from the profile’s documented production claims.
