Overview
Anjanath is a large Brute Wyvern whose pink skin, dark fur and powerful hindquarters make it one of the distinctive predators of Monster Hunter: World's Ancient Forest. When agitated, it exposes a prominent nasal structure and raises sail-like membranes along its back. Its attacks combine trampling, bites and tail strikes with fire projected from its mouth, giving an animal introduced early in the story a threat beyond its physical size.
World places Anjanath among competing predators rather than presenting it as an isolated boss in an empty arena. Turf wars and hunting routes show it sharing territory with other species. Iceborne introduces Fulgur Anjanath, a separate thunder-using subspecies; those electrical abilities do not belong to the ordinary animal. This profile concerns the original form and its presentation in World and Rise, without treating every later move or numerical weakness as permanent biology.
First appearances & development
Monster Hunter: World (2018). This entry follows the version represented by the primary works listed below, rather than treating the name as a single creature shared by every adaptation. Game Hunter's Notes and encounters are the baseline; subspecies, variants, spin-offs and numerical mechanics require title attribution.
Canon & continuity
The bibliography identifies Monster Hunter: World as a primary basis and Monster Hunter Rise as a second useful treatment. The linked secondary reference supports identification and contextual claims; it does not substitute for consulting the named edition, episode or game. Game Hunter's Notes and encounters are the baseline; subspecies, variants, spin-offs and numerical mechanics require title attribution.

Family, evolution & connections
Ancient Forest’s seamless terrain
Fujioka says Ancient Forest provided the blueprint for organic interactions and that designing Anjanath took considerable effort. The input concerns World’s creature behaviour within complex terrain.
