Overview
Wormmon is a small green larval Digimon with antennae, numerous legs and silk-producing attacks. Bandai's reference emphasizes a timid creature whose present weakness conceals considerable evolutionary potential. Its Sticky Net can hinder opponents, while a thinner thread becomes a piercing weapon. The reference also links the form with ancient Digimon capable of using Digi-Eggs.
Adventure 02 gives Wormmon a central emotional role as Ken Ichijouji's partner. Loyalty to Ken persists through the Digimon Emperor's cruelty, making the individual part of a story about responsibility and reconciliation rather than a disposable follower. Later transformation into Stingmon illustrates the gap between the small larva and its stronger forms. Attribute labels and evolution routes differ among reference and game products; neither a particular partner's choices nor one roster determines every Wormmon's future.
First appearances & development
Multiple continuities; selected Digimon Adventure 02 (2000). This entry follows the version represented by the primary works listed below, rather than treating the name as a single creature shared by every adaptation. Reference Book designs and television individuals are distinct; branching Digivolution routes vary by product and continuity.
Canon & continuity
Bandai's exact species page provides the form's reference classification, named attacks and descriptive lore. Digimon Adventure 02 supplies a separate primary portrayal of a named individual or transformation. These sources are complementary: the reference profile is not a transcript of every anime event, and localized attack names can differ from the Japanese text.

Family, evolution & connections
Veemon
The official profile explicitly says this Digimon descends from the same ancient species as Veemon. It does not name that ancestral species or supply a branching topology, so the shared fictional origin is recorded without inventing ancestors.
