Overview

Rygdea serves in the Cavalry under Cid Raines in Final Fantasy XIII. The game’s Datalog describes a courageous officer who considered retirement because he despised the Sanctum’s deception. Raines persuaded him to stay, and their shared ideals made Rygdea his trusted subordinate in efforts to undermine the government.

By Chapter Twelve, Raines has become Primarch, and Rygdea leads the Cavalry against the Sanctum offices. The chapter’s Datalog explains that Raines, revived as Barthandelus’s pawn, welcomes death rather than continued servitude. The Cavalry then seeks to kill Orphan, believing this will liberate Cocoon.
