Overview
They live in large plant structures and sustain a cultivated relationship with their surroundings rather than merely occupying accidental shelters. The official account identifies skilled gardening, a language, music and domesticated animals as elements of their society. Nebrie and fizzgigs participate in that domestic system, connecting the people with both food production and herd management.
The original film places Kira's upbringing within a Podling community and contrasts its feast with a Garthim raid. Captives taken to the castle can be drained of essence and made to serve the rulers, so peaceful life is vulnerable to organized coercion. Age of Resistance develops individual Podlings and an explicitly constructed language. The label Pod People is an English rendering used by the franchise; these beings are not the body-replacing pods of an unrelated invasion story.
First appearances & development
Podlings are established in the 1982 film and companion world-building, with the 2019 prequel expanding individuals and language. Their relationship with Kira and domestic plants belongs to this particular setting. Named villagers or differing service roles are not treated as newly invented species simply to enlarge the catalogue.
Canon & continuity
The official Pod People page supplies gardening, plant dwellings, husbandry, adoption and enslavement. The P glossary independently identifies the prequel's constructed language and social setting. The profile avoids equating a guide's limited-history description with absence of intelligence, and it does not claim to have fully read every later Podling story.
