Nexifera

Overview

Nexifera wait above cave floors in the Cambion Drift. A greenish bile pool beneath them attracts Cryptilex, their common prey. Disturbance triggers a drop onto the ground, followed by withdrawal on fibrous tethers. The visible pool thus warns of danger overhead. The reference describes activity in either environmental phase, rather than a restriction to Fass or Vome.

The underside’s keratin shell repels tranquilizer darts, while softer tendrils allow capture. A subdued creature falls instead of retreating. Viridian forms release toxic gas and Scarlet forms cause impact shockwaves; neither defense is universal. Digital Extremes’ Arcana record introduces Nexifera as conservation wildlife alongside Undazoa. Hunting and capture expose different parts of the same anatomy, linking the predator’s feeding behavior to the player’s approach.

First appearances & development

Nexifera were introduced in Deimos: Arcana in 2020. The inspected publisher witness is the December Xbox Update 29.5.5 record, while the reference gives the earlier November 19 PC Update 29.5 introduction. The profile preserves the platform distinction and groups the conservation subspecies within one creature account.

Canon & continuity

Digital Extremes’ Arcana record directly identifies the newly added wildlife. The inspected Warframe Wiki article supplies hunting, capture anatomy and Codex-labeled subtype defenses. Its patch history distinguishes initial addition from later rarity adjustments. The bile/ Cryptilex interaction is reference-mediated, and resemblance to a Warframe ability is not treated as demonstrated ancestry.
