Overview

Lunagaron is an ice-associated Fanged Wyvern introduced in Sunbreak. Its wolf-like head and body normally move on four legs, while heightened aggression can bring it into an upright stance with dangerous claw attacks. Ice covering the body and limbs makes its transformation visible, linking the creature's physical state with the way it fights.

The monster is one of the Three Lords named in official Sunbreak material, alongside Garangolm and Malzeno. That narrative grouping concerns their importance to the Kingdom's crisis, not a shared taxonomic class: the three belong to different monster categories. The account follows the original Sunbreak encounters and distinguishes visibly changing posture from a separately named subspecies. Although the silhouette invites comparisons with werewolves, this profile does not assert a particular folklore inspiration without a directly cited creator statement.

Werewolf / Wolfman motif

Director Yoshitake Suzuki explicitly identifies the werewolf or Wolfman motif when explaining Lunagaron in a Sunbreak preview interview. This documents a creative theme, without identifying one particular film or folklore text as its source. Baring-Gould’s historical collection supplies context for diverse werewolf narratives, rather than evidence that the development team used that book.
