Overview

Kinglor begin as leaf-eating larvae on the forest floor, grow into tree-climbing cocoon makers, and emerge as four-winged adults that eat pollen. Their communities gather around a fertile queen. Soft dorsal covering and feathery antennae give the slow-flying adults a delicate appearance, but a concealed venomous stinger and coordinated attacks make them capable of defending themselves against larger creatures. The guide situates this life cycle in the Kinglor Forest’s relationship with its own flowers and inhabitants. The moth comparison explains the appearance without establishing membership in an Earth insect family.

The Aranahe tend nests within their ancient Hometree and weave silk from cocoons whose occupants have already emerged. That detail matters: the described cultural use follows completed metamorphosis, rather than requiring the destruction of every developing insect. The separate Hometree entry also records an influx large enough to threaten the tree’s stability, showing that a cherished relationship can be disrupted. Etuwa’s official account links her wish to help the kinglor with the conflict over resisting the RDA and honoring her mother’s memory. These witnesses give the animal a role in both everyday craftsmanship and the game’s political choices. A queen-centered insect colony is not evidence for a separately named sapient kinglor civilization.

First appearances & development

The selected portrayal belongs to the 2023 Western Frontier game and its official companion web guide. Larva, cocoon and adult are stages within one profile. The online entries are undated, so the game’s release is a documented treatment rather than an asserted day-by-day audit of the creature’s first promotion.

Canon & continuity

The full official species body supplies metamorphosis, diet, defense and silk use. Hometree and Etuwa entries were inspected separately for the overcrowding and story contexts. The game is the named primary narrative work; these web witnesses do not imply a newly completed original-game playthrough.
