Overview
Hungers are gaunt predatory Daedra distinguished by long tongues, dangerous claws and an appetite for mortal flesh. Morrowind gives them attacks that can paralyze or damage an opponent's equipment, making their danger extend beyond straightforward injury. Their presence in that game is commonly associated with Boethiah, but a later encounter in another realm should not automatically be assigned the same master or story role.
Shivering Isles places Hungers within its own unsettling bestiary and service relationships, while still preserving the recognizable creature form. Later ESO abilities add further tongue-based attacks under a separate game system. This profile compares the two selected single-player treatments instead of silently combining every poisonous, draining or teleporting action from the franchise into one universal monster. The name refers to a specific Daedric creature here, and does not denote every character experiencing hunger or every abstract aspect of a Prince.
First appearances & development
Selected comparison: Morrowind (2002) and Shivering Isles (2007). This entry follows the version represented by the primary works listed below, rather than treating the name as a single creature shared by every adaptation. Game lore and in-world narrators can conflict; gameplay abilities and playable body forms vary by title.
Canon & continuity
UESP's public MediaWiki API supplied the citation-bearing creature article; UESP is an independent reference, not an official publisher. Released games named in the bibliography are the canonical basis. In-game books, dialogue, mechanics and unofficial writings remain distinguishable within that reference. This task does not claim a complete replay or inspection of every later expansion.
