Overview

The original Deimos update encourages a patient approach to Avichaeas because the wall-clinging or flying groups flee when startled. The conservation reference describes a primitive bird-like silhouette, anxious behavior and curiosity about nearby calls. These observations give the creature an encounter built around locating and approaching wildlife instead of defeating an enemy. Looking upward matters because an animal attached to a wall may be missed by a player searching only across the ground.

The source’s Codex descriptions distinguish the common form from Sporule and Viscid subspecies. Sporule is associated with Vome and releases Infested spores defensively; Viscid is associated with Fass and discharges a thick, tar-like mucus when threatened. Those differences make phase and handling relevant to the animal’s ecology. Neither defense is assigned universally to every Avichaea. The reference’s suggestion that the creatures may be transformed Mergoo is left out of established ancestry: visual similarity alone cannot settle their fictional origin.

First appearances & development

Avichaeas were introduced in Heart of Deimos (2020), within Warframe’s Cambion Drift conservation activities. This profile groups the three reported subspecies and their different phase associations. The fictional bibliography has one primary update; the reproduced Codex and encounter descriptions are accessed through a reference rather than claimed as a complete direct game-script examination.

Canon & continuity

The inspected Digital Extremes release record supports group movement, wall clinging and skittishness. The Warframe Wiki article provides Codex-labeled spore and mucus defenses and their phase restrictions. Its Mergoo ancestry suggestion is not promoted to canon. Later capture-count revisions are not mistaken for a new biological species or a change to the original debut.
