Illustrative pronghorn; imagined setting.
Overview
Pronghorn eat shrubs in winter and succulent forbs during warmer months. Their horn sheaths grow over permanent bony cores; males usually shed the sheaths in November–December.
Females commonly bear twins in May–June. Fawns initially hide while mothers graze nearby, then join nursery herds. Yellowstone animals migrate between seasonal ranges.
