Overview
Xiubi fish live in the Tuo River flowing north from Mount Tuo in the Shanhaijing. They resemble frogs but have white beaks. Their voice resembles that of an owl. Eating them is said to relieve a skin condition.
The mountain contains trees, gold, jade and iron. The account’s category is fish, while its body comparison is frog-like; the white beak and owllike voice add further features to the named river inhabitant.
