Overview
Wenlin inhabits Mount Ji in the Shanhaijing. It resembles a pig with a yellow body, white head and white tail. Its appearance foretells great winds throughout the realm.
The mountain has trees and fragrant plants. Its written name聞𧲂 is kept distinct from獜, the armored doglike creature recorded earlier in the itinerary.
