Overview
The vexis occupies the space beneath Pasaana's sand. Thick scales protect its body, and its skin produces an oil that hardens the walls of its tunnel network. This connects anatomy with a constructed shelter rather than merely describing a snake placed in a desert. Rey and her companions encounter one after a sinkhole carries them into the underground passages. Its threatening appearance initially makes the burrow seem like another obstacle between the group and the surface.
The film guide changes that expectation by emphasizing the animal's injury. Rey approaches while her companions remain prepared to defend themselves, then uses the Force to heal it, transferring some of her own life. The serpent withdraws and exposes a way out. In this selected scene, the creature becomes the occasion for an act of care and the group's escape. That outcome does not establish tame behavior for every vexis, nor does an individual receiving Force healing prove that its species has an innate Force power.
First appearances & development
The selected screen appearance is The Rise of Skywalker, released in 2019. The creature is treated as a Pasaana species rather than a separate identity created by its injury. This bibliography centers on the film and its official explanatory guides; no unsupported earlier dramatic appearance is added to expand the record.
Canon & continuity
The Databank supplies scales, oil and tunnel ecology, while the official film synopsis explains the healing and revealed exit. Their overlapping encounter facts are counted as one account rather than two independent observations. This is a bounded scene treatment, without a claimed complete reread of associated novels or reference books.
