Overview
Footage recovered from a kino shows the Destiny expedition facing a disaster it has not yet experienced. In that recorded sequence, dark jungle conditions and heavy rain conceal creatures with tentaclelike appendages and long tails. They rush the camp and burrow into bodies, turning an expedition intended to collect resources into a struggle to maintain a defensive perimeter. Their nighttime activity and nearby moundlike nests give the team practical clues about where and when danger develops.
The venom complicates the creature's role. A survivor who was stung is no longer suffering from the separate illness affecting the crew, suggesting that material from the predator could be used therapeutically within the story. Time-travelled evidence then lets another version of the expedition pursue a different outcome. Cloverdale later reuses the collected alien venom as one attempted remedy for Scott's new infection; its failure there shows that the earlier cure is not a universal antidote. The entry's descriptive name identifies the episode without fabricating a scientific taxon.
First appearances & development
Robert C. Cooper wrote and directed Time for Stargate Universe in 2009. The creature's substantive body and attack sequence belong to that episode's changing timelines. Brad Wright's Cloverdale, broadcast in 2010, refers to its venom again. Alternate outcomes do not require counting each recorded predator encounter as a separate species.
Canon & continuity
The inspected Time episode guide identifies the tentacled form, nocturnal assaults, moundlike nesting clues and venom discovery. Cloverdale's guide explicitly reports the attempted use of the earlier venom. These are linked screen-story observations, not a general claim that predator venom cures real infection or every fictional ailment.
