Overview

The war’s Ten Tails is revived through the combined chakra of the nine tailed beasts. Its enormous destructive power is not its only advantage: its body changes during the battle, and an apparent pause mistaken for successful restraint prepares a new form. The official anime retrospective describes long-range Tailed Beast Bombs reaching the Allied Shinobi headquarters, as well as numerous fission beings opposing the summoned creatures of Team Seven. A human can become its jinchuriki, which changes the kind of opponent the alliance faces rather than simply adding another wild beast to the battlefield.

Boruto develops the Ten Tails as part of a broader harvesting process. The official database states that consuming a living Otsutsuki enables it to transform into a Divine Tree, root itself and absorb chakra from life across a planet. The eventual fruit carries concentrated energy and genetic information. That later account should not be reduced to a claim that every scene in Naruto displays an identical feeding sequence. The war retrospective also shows transformation into a chakra-draining tree, but it narrates that particular battle. Boruto’s later Claw Grimes are another distinct use of Ten Tails power, not ordinary offspring belonging to an Earth animal family.

First appearances & development

The creature is established in Naruto’s later mythology and war narrative, with subsequent Boruto material explaining planetary harvesting. Bibliographic dates below identify each series’ beginning, not an exhaustive exact debut chronology. The original war monster and later Ten Tails uses remain separately contextualized; a shared name does not prove that every individual instance is the same body.

Canon & continuity

The official anniversary account supports transformations, remote bombardment and fission beings in the anime war treatment. The May 2024 Boruto database directly supplies the later tree/fruit sequence. This profile does not claim a freshly watched full anime arc, verified first panel, or one harmonized explanation of every Kaguya and Otsutsuki scene.
