Overview
Sūciloma meets the Buddha at his haunt near Gayā, accompanied by Khara. He doubts that the visitor is a true contemplative and presses against him. When the Buddha leans away, Sūciloma challenges him about fear.
He threatens violence if his question goes unanswered, then asks where passion, aversion and disturbing thoughts arise. The reply addresses their mental causes. The selected text translates his name as Needle-hair but supplies no extended physical portrait.
