Overview

A Squiggoth is an enormous scaly Ork warbeast used to carry fighters and weapons while trampling through opposing troops and obstacles. Breeders known as Pigdoks develop the animals, and the fighting platform on the back turns the creature into a living transport. Armour fixed to its hide adds manufactured equipment to an already dangerous body. Its horns and weight remain biological weapons even when the passengers supply the ranged firepower.

Secondary accounts describe feed mixtures and husbandry as important to differences in growth, including the rare enormous specimens termed Gargantuan Squiggoths. Those sizes remain within this profile rather than generating entries for every model or carrying-capacity value. Official datasheets establish its monster-and-transport role, but passenger limits and weapon options belong to their respective rules snapshots. This entry concerns the Warhammer 40,000 warbeast and its Ork relationship; the Mortal Realms' cave squigs supply a parallel franchise concept, not proof that a particular fantasy animal travelled between settings.

First appearances & development

Squiggoths are specifically scoped to Warhammer 40,000 and Ork breeding practices. The inspected older datasheet and later Legends excerpt establish distinct publisher treatments without a checked debut date. Large and Gargantuan specimens share a profile, while the changes in rules or transport limits are not treated as evidence for new biological species.

Canon & continuity

The official older PDF was inspected at its Squiggoth spread, and the later Legends wording was checked through publisher-indexed text. A separate creature reference explains specialist feed and size variation. Together they support the husbandry and transport role; newer document dates and exhaustive breeding recipes were not established, and numerical capacities are not generalized.
