Overview
Soulbound dolls are small constructed bodies containing a soul fragment, commonly housed in an embedded gem or another carefully made focus. A donor's traits influence the newly created personality, but the being is not simply the whole deceased person restored in miniature. The second-edition legacy rules expressly distinguish borrowed personality fragments from the donor's memories. The doll can then learn and develop along its own course. Companionship, household service and guardianship are possible roles, and obedience is not guaranteed merely because someone built the body.
The focus explains a different kind of continuity. If it survives the body's destruction, a knowledgeable maker can place it in a replacement and retain the doll's acquired memories. This does not contradict the absence of the donor's original memories: the two sets belong to different experiences. The selected accounts also say removing a fragment does not prevent the remainder of the deceased soul's onward journey or later resurrection. Unwilling creation is ethically marked, while second edition permits a non-evil doll from a donor who consented before death. The same account reports rumored less harmful living-donor methods without confirming them. These distinctions make the construct a particular new agent formed through morally consequential craft, rather than an inert toy or a universally evil spirit.
First appearances & development
The selected sources are first-edition Bestiary 2 (2010) and original second-edition Bestiary (2019). The first entry indexes Edge of Anarchy as an earlier adventure account. This profile treats the doll within its broader soulbound construct family but does not duplicate larger mannequins, shells or warriors as identical forms.
Canon & continuity
The inspected transcriptions provide soul-focus construction, autonomy, consent distinctions and persistence through replacement bodies. Second edition explicitly supplies the contrast between initial borrowed personality and acquired memories. The record avoids turning rumor about living donors into a verified safe procedure, and does not import the exact immunity list of one ruleset into another.
