Overview
Sinspawn have a gaunt humanoid outline, long arms, taloned digits, pale flesh and distorted jaws. The first-edition account describes distilled ectoplasm imprinted with a slain creature's soul-image; second edition emphasizes the runelords' shaping of humanoid flesh. These are adjacent but differently worded magical creation accounts, not a measured natural reproductive lineage. Different associated sins shape appearance and capabilities, but wrathspawn do not define the entire category.
The second-edition legacy entry explains that sinspawn cannot reproduce themselves through ordinary procreation. Active runewells gather particular memories and emotions from nearby deaths and can generate new adults, making these sites important to later communities. Such beings need not retain loyalty to a vanished runelord. A bite imposes overwhelming thoughts associated with the sin, while scent abilities detect relevant conditions through the selected rules. The profile keeps all seven major forms together rather than multiplying them into entries that differ only by a color, ability modifier or equipment choice.
First appearances & development
Selected witnesses are first-edition Bestiary 2 (2010) and original second-edition Bestiary (2019). The first page also indexes Burnt Offerings and later variant material. Runelords and runewells supply Pathfinder-specific setting context; the creatures are not real moral categories assigned to human peoples.
Canon & continuity
The transcriptions support magical creation, seven associated forms, bite effects and second-edition dependence on runewells. The first page includes later variants, but those expansions are not silently attributed to its 2010 source. Priority 2 follows the created monster and encounter role while explicitly retaining sentience and community formation.
