Overview
Bit-Yakin's servants are powerful, hairy, human-shaped beings who use language and machinery. Their master exploits the preserved Yelaya as an oracle while hiding them from visiting priests. They obtain food from the subterranean river and preserve their master's corpse.
Without his restraint they become deadly to intruders. They overwhelm armed men, but Conan can wound one and escape with Muriela. Intelligence and practical understanding are explicit; their own culture is not described from their perspective. They should not be reduced to mindless statues or ordinary apes.
