Overview

A scourge beast supplies the hunt's threat before the player has assembled a complete hunter's arsenal: one occupies Iosefka's Clinic, and others patrol Central and Old Yharnam. They close distance quickly, chain attacks and can seize a victim with a gnawing grasp. The publisher's general account identifies Yharnam's scourge as an illness that turns humans into malformed beasts; that context does not assign each encountered beast a named former resident. The ordinary form is vulnerable to fire and serrated weapons, although variants have their own elemental properties.

Upper Cathedral Ward's blue-eyed beasts ambush intruders, including a group concealed on the orphanage chandelier. Yahar'gul supplies a skeletal appearance, while Loran and Isz dungeons place related forms beneath the city. Their shared attack behaviour is more secure than a theory that every visual difference marks a separate species. Blood cocktails can redirect their pursuit briefly. The licensed board game's Long Hunt gives a distinct narrative use to the type: an infestation enters Central Yharnam and hunters investigate its source. That campaign is a tabletop scenario, not proof of a new biological origin for the video-game population.

First appearances & development

The selected type belongs to Bloodborne's released 2015 base game. Later licensed tabletop material reuses the creature in the Long Hunt campaign. Appearance, placement and resistance differences are treated as encounter variants, while an unused development variant is excluded from the account of released creatures.

Canon & continuity

The specialist's location tables and behavioural account distinguish ordinary, skeletal and blue-eyed forms. Miyazaki's publisher-hosted launch message establishes the general transformation premise. An inspected indexed passage on page 7 of the final CMON rulebook supplies the Long Hunt scenario; the entire PDF and its individual enemy cards were not inspected.
