Narglatch

Overview

Narglatches are stealthy predators that Lucasfilm says can tolerate several climates, including Orto Plutonia's frozen tundra. Their usual blue coloration is linked with concealment in snowy surroundings. The Databank gives a length of six metres; this is a fictional reference measurement, not a new estimate from the illustration.

The official portrait shows a four-legged, catlike body with a ring of pointed projections around the head and a fan-shaped tail end. Talz favor these animals as mounts and protection. Their trainable use does not remove their predatory nature, while the source's mention of Trandoshans collecting hides establishes an additional relationship with hunters.

The selected screen context is The Clone Wars. No inspected creator interview establishes an exclusive real-world animal model or earliest design date. The unofficial portrait retains blue coloration, four legs, spiked mane and fan tail in an invented ice canyon, with no rider added.

First appearances & development

Selected current Lucasfilm Databank material supplies the Orto Plutonia predator and mount identity. Earlier Legends treatments and their potentially different origins are not merged into this account.

Canon & continuity

Lucasfilm Databank text read directly; rendered official subject portrait inspected separately for morphology. Named individuals are examples, not universal species occupations or ethics.
