Overview

Breath of the Wild's Molduga patrol the Gerudo Desert beneath the surface, exposing a fishlike body with four limbs when they breach. Noise draws them toward prospective prey, making careless movement dangerous. The same response lets Link lure them into an explosive attack and strike while they are stunned. They belong to a particular desert encounter rather than the flying or cave-dwelling monster groups elsewhere in Hyrule.

The Medicinal Molduga quest gives their bodies another narrative role: Malena needs their guts for her husband's treatment, but the soldiers will not undertake the hunt. The quest establishes an in-world medicinal use, not a real medical recommendation. Tears of the Kingdom retains the sand-swimming predator and adds recoverable jaws; Bomb Flowers and other explosives replace the earlier game's tools. Its rescue encounters connect the animal's territory to dangers faced by travelers. Neither game account proves a taxonomic relationship to the separately named Molgera.

Zelda Wiki's sections reproduce the Hyrule Compendium description and identify the relevant side quests. The profile uses these inspected reference-mediated game accounts. Speculative name derivations and broader Warriors continuity are outside the account. The bibliography identifies the two games, without asserting that their full scripts were independently read.
