Overview

Megidramon is a huge Evil Dragon Digimon whose presence is described as a Digital Hazard, making the form's danger exceed the reach of an ordinary fire attack. Bandai places it among the Four Great Dragons but emphasizes a particularly destructive nature and uncertain reports of its existence. Its metal-composed body and attacks involving shockwaves and devastating flame contribute to that catastrophic identity. The reference says its power is sealed by an unknown force; the uncertainty should remain part of the account. It also proposes that Megidramon and ChaosGallantmon might be different perceptions of one terrifying presence. This is expressly a theory, not a confirmed rule that lets every dark knight transform into the dragon. The distinction between a form's broad reference myth and an observed character matters particularly here, because the anime gives the monster a much more immediate emotional cause.

In Tamers, Leomon's death at Beelzemon's hands pushes Takato to demand greater power from his partner. WarGrowlmon's next transformation becomes Megidramon, an abnormal result that is neither the heroic figure Takato expected nor an obedient companion. Toei's episode 35 synopsis describes the failure of Takato's voice to reach it and the surrounding ground splitting and sinking under its power. The creature threatens to consume Beelzemon, but its opponent absorbs other Digimon's power and eventually overwhelms it. Evolution here carries a cost: Takato's desire to retaliate has damaged the relationship that normally gives Guilmon direction. Gallantmon's subsequent emergence belongs to a different model of partnership, not merely a stronger color of the same dragon. This narrative comparison is specific to the 2001 television episodes. Other games may offer Megidramon through selectable development branches without reproducing Takato's grief, while the encyclopedia's sealed-power story does not establish the complete chronology of that individual.

First appearances & development

This entry combines Bandai's ordinary-form encyclopedia treatment with specifically identified Digimon Tamers episodes broadcast in Japan in 2001–2002. The series gives a particular individual and partnership a narrative development; the reference describes a wider reusable Digimon form. These are complementary primary sources, not a single biography shared across games, films and every anime continuity.

02

Canon & continuity

Bandai directly supports the ordinary form's anatomy, weapons and general reference lore. Toei's indexed Japanese episode synopses independently support the selected television events and named production credits. Some original Toei pages block full direct retrieval, so this is a bounded synopsis and bibliography comparison rather than a claim that the complete series was reread. No quotations or invented creator influences are included.
