Overview
Lundiyo is a bird that goes out at night in Jacottet’s Louyi text. Its cry is understood as calling others to come. People who hear it are described as becoming frightened and saying that they have heard a sorcerer. The small account thus locates the being in an audible night encounter; it supplies no attack, victim, transformation or concluding rescue.
Jacottet’s note describes a small nocturnal bird that he cannot identify. He suggests that its summons calls sorcerers, but that explanation is marked as his inference and goes beyond the brief translated account. The source places Lundiyo beside the separately named owl Lisikita, whose call has a different understood command and an explicit ghost association. They remain distinct entries here. The Louyi heading numbers this passage LXVII; the French heading repeats LXVI, so the bird’s name and page are also retained as locators.
