Overview
The National Gallery of Victoria identifies its nineteenth-century Sri Lankan wooden ensemble as Kola Sanniya with eighteen servant demons or yakku. Pigments cover the wood, and the entire object measures 144 centimetres high, 75.7 centimetres wide and 22.5 centimetres deep.
The record establishes the central figure’s relationship to the surrounding beings. A collection ensemble does not establish that every Sanni performance uses an identical arrangement or identical disease associations; the named object remains the specific visual witness.
