Overview

Gogiteths are many-legged subterranean hunters with an abundance of eyes, teeth and hair. They occur in dangerous groups deep in the Darklands. Their joints can produce clacking noises, but the creatures can suppress those sounds while stalking. They also whistle, with reports of dissonant group calls. Their appearance has inspired competing accounts of alien origin or disastrous fleshwarping, neither settled by the entry.

An individual can carry a victim while moving, and its coordinated movement lets it threaten several opponents in one assault. These abilities make an established hive more dangerous than a stationary nest of ordinary vermin. Rumoured great gogiteths are described as vastly larger and capable of producing hordes when attacked, but that legend is not promoted into a verified universal growth stage. The remaster uses Sakvroth in place of the legacy language label Undercommon, while retaining the inability to speak.

First appearances & development

This profile follows the named Pathfinder second-edition entries, keeping the 2019 legacy Bestiary separate from the 2024 Monster Core. These witnesses establish selected published treatments, not an exhaustive debut history. Other fantasy franchises' similarly named creatures do not automatically share this being's powers.

Canon & continuity

The licensed archive passages were inspected for the distinctive encounter behaviour and source page references. Repeated descriptions across editions are a shared textual witness, rather than two independent confirmations of every fact. The profile omits numeric combat statistics and does not claim a fresh reading of both complete rulebooks.
